Gropius Bathroom

Public Building Renovation
Lincoln, Massachusetts, USA
Competition, 2025
Collaborated with ELSE

The Gropius Bathroom project takes the arrival experience at the Gropius House as its point of departure. The Gropius House is governed by a rigorous orthogonal grid, yet its entrance canopy introduces a subtle diagonal deflection—a precise geometric adjustment that aligns the architecture with the pedestrian approach and clarifies entry. Taking this as a reference, the project proposes a new permanent facility at the site entrance along the parking area edge, combining a welcome center and public restrooms to form the first point of arrival. A gently angled wall extends toward the entrance, drawing visitors inward and establishing a clear, welcoming sequence.
