The plan draws from Gropius's emphasis on clarity and functional order. An angled wall and a compact service core support a continuous roof plane, with the space between them becoming the welcome center. All service functions—two accessible restrooms, a janitor closet, and mechanical equipment—are consolidated into a single volume, freeing the remaining space as an open, daylit public reception area. The building uses CLT as its primary structure, wrapped externally with white wood cladding echoing the Gropius House palette. A glass brick wall lines the corridor, referencing the entry canopy's materiality. High-performance thermal detailing ensures durability, while timber construction reduces embodied carbon, enables precise prefabrication, and minimizes site impact—extending Gropius's innovation through contemporary methods.
